Station and Enrichment Activities

Station and enrichment activities can be used to reinforce a chosen skill or concept.  Additionally, if properly set up, these types of activities can be used to introduce a new skill.  They can be an exciting and fun way to keep students engaged and active in the learning process.  I have found certain types of activities, like the ones pictured below, also serve to motivate students to finish assigned work.  Additionally, providing these types of assignments give early finishers an activity to complete that is both relevant to their learning and complimentary to the topic being studied.  In this way, you can utilize strategically planned enrichment stations serve as anchor activities that can be rotated out for early finishers throughout the year.
